Blushed: Kevyn Aucoin Fira {Mango} (for NC45 or Darker Skintones)

This is going right into the pro kit:
Kevyn Aucoin Blush in Fira {Mango} is the perfect color for really warm skin tones with red undertones. I always feel like this color category gets ignored in the blush department by mainstream brands. Many of the blush colors go ashy or pull too pink. But this dark orange color has a reddish undertone, and it's perfect for warmer skin tones.

It swatches strong and matte. If I were going to use it on my medium skin tone, I'd have to use a very light touch. It pulls a little red on me, but if I use it sparingly, I can get a really lovely glow.
Even if I can't use it for myself on a regular basis, I know I'm going to have so much fun using it on warmer skin tones. I can't count the times that a client will sit in my chair, so worried that she's going to end up looking ashy. I always take great pleasure in surprising them with colors and textures that compliment their individual skin tones. This blush is a gem. If you're around NC45 or darker, I definitely feel like it's a must  have.

  1. Right??? I love it. It's the most potent color from the line. I saw a fuchsia color as well that I might get. But this Mango color... AMAZING. I can't wait to test it out!

  2. That swatch has literally left me breathless. It looks so warm and will really brighten up a complexion. I just had a look at the fuchsia online, I can envisage that swatching beautifully as well. Def popping into Space NK to have a look at them in person next week. Thanks for the heads up.

  3. You're so welcome! These are highly pigmented blushes so a little goes a long way. If you end up getting the Fuchsia as well, I'd love to know how it works out for you!

  4. Ooh that is such a rich, deep mago color. I guess that level of pigmentation is lacking from most blushes because the "blush" is supposed to look more natural, but for darker skin tones that translates to ash city or no color payoff at all. Kudos Kevyn Aucoin!!

  5. I really feel like warmer skin tones get slighted in this department. So many blushes just translate as ashy, or have to be used as a highlighter. There's hardly any real color payoff.

  7. Thanks Sharon! I think you'll like this one. I really love that it's matte. No shimmer. It will really make warm skin glow.
