Habibi Bath & Body

So... I finally started my company blog. And I've got one follower... ME! lol

I'd like to start building a base there, and running that blog much like I run this one, with info and pictures, and of course.. giveaways.

The giveaways would be limited to Habibi Bath & Body product though.

Here's what I'd like to do:

If you guys want... start following over at http://habibibody.blogspot.com/ When the site reaches 100 followers, I'll put up the first giveway. Sound fair?

FOTD: For Effect

I used the MAC Paint Pot in 'For Effect' from the Holiday Collection to set the base for this look:

Chanel Loose Powder (Dore)
Illamasqua Blush in Nymph

EYES
MAC Paint Pot in For Effect (lashline to above crease)

Armani Eyes to Kill Stretch Mascara

LIPS
Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Stunt

My Sustainable Journey: Vapour Organics Eye Color

My latest batch of goodies arrived from Spirit Beauty Lounge (love that place!): Vapour Organics Mesmerize Eye Shadows...
I have to say, I like these better than the RMS Beauty variety. They come in a convenient twist tube, and the colors are 'drier' on application, and less oil-based. I found that they blend out very well with fingers or a brush.

Smitten (clay)

Stealth (dark shimmer green)

Night (dark shimmer blue)

Charm (matte coral)

Cinder (shimmer pink-beige)

Lyric (shimmer medium purple)

Flash (matte light brown)

Dream (shimmer light green)

Smolder (shimmer dark brown)

Storm (shimmer dark grey)

Sugar (shimmer golden pink)

Swatches to come.. as soon as I figure out how to photograph them. My camera is NOT cooperating... boo! I seriously need a new one. I'm working on it. In the meantime, if you're interested, you can find these babies at www.spiritbeautylounge.com . Ciao for now!

Fashion Alert: Black Friday Sale!!

Okay, so this has nothing to do with makeup. But EM & Co. is my 'go-to' boutique for all of my fashion needs... period. I've learned more about my body type, and fashionable ways to dress it, than at any other place. This is a great place to get key pieces, that are neither traditionally 'classic' (read: boring) nor 'trendy' (read: disposable)... but always noteworthy. For example, the tunic (Brand: Religion) that I wore at the Space NK Meet & Greet was from Em & Co. The owner features European and local designers, who have a command of fabric and realistic cut and construction.

Now, EM & Co. can  be a bit pricey, so anytime there's a sale... it's worth shouting from the rooftops.

So, local gals, if you're interested in getting high fashion at a lower price point... head over to West LA and get your shop on!

Lise Watier: Holiday 2011

If the promo pic is any indication ,the Holiday 2011 Collection for Lise Watier is all about shimmer. By the time I saw this collection, most of the goodies were sold out. Not to worry, I managed to score what I think is the crown jewel of the collection: The Golden Lip Gloss.

What's interesting (and rather awesome) about this gloss is that it has both gold and silver glitter, but it's encased in a distinctly golden gloss. The glitter is not weird or chunky. It's actually the best incorporation of glitter that I've seen in gloss, in a long time.

Now, I know it looks like the silver sparkles are 'black' on my lips, but trust me.. it's all shimmer and shine. I really love this gloss. In fact, I love it so much that I'm paying it forward in an upcoming giveaway. Details coming... ciao for now!

FOTD: Browned Purple

I dug out my Estee Lauder DoubleWear Light foundation today, and was reminded of why I love it so  much. It's just an excellent formula. Goes on smooth and wears flawlessly all day. I also layered a bit of shadow over cream to give a 'brownish hue' to my purple eyeshadows...

NARS Cream Shadow in Ponderosa (lids)

The Fresh Facial

For my birthday, the ladies at Fresh in Beverly Hills (Neiman Marcus) treated me to a facial. I honestly thought it was just going to be some 'at the counter' treatment (since it was a gift from them), but I knew I was in for a treat when they led me to the 'spa room!'

My lovely facialist (who's name I have shamefully forgotten) began my treatment with the Soy Face Cleanser:

She then treated my face with the Black Tea Masque... which has an incredibly cooling effect:
While the mask was cooling, she wrapped hot towels around the edges of my face...it was the most awesome feeling! As the mask set (about 15 minutes), she massaged my shoulders and arms and hands. I had the best time talking to her... she's incredibly knowledgeable about skincare. I always love to talk to experts about skin care, I'm always open to learn more about the subject... as I am of the belief that we should never stop learning.

After she rinsed the mask off of me, she followed with the Black Tea Serum:

Then she moisturized my skin with Black Tea Cream:
She explained that what she did for me was a 'daytime' ritual. If I was to do a nighttime ritual, then she suggested mixing the Elixir Ancien with the Creme Ancien:
Now you guys know that I make my own face care, but I was excited to try something new. It was a lovely experience, and I'm very grateful to the ladies at Fresh for treating me. I'm already committed to adding the Elixir Ancien to my nighttime skin ritual.

Now, I'll just need to win the lottery to  keep up the rather expensive habit of using it...
