Lip Service: By Terry Aqua Tint

Edwin (Space NK Diva) is a helluva salesperson. That's all I will say about that. There is no reason in the WORLD why I needed the By Terry Aqua Lip Tint... but somehow it came home with me!

Oh, did I mention that I also got the Aqua Lip Topcoat? Like I said, Edwin is a helluva sales person.

The thing about this pair is... OMG, they work! I have very pigmented lips, and tints typically look a mess on me because one lip is more pigmented than the other. Blame genetics. But this stuff.... oh, this stuff does away with such worries because it tints everything evenly!

The applicator is completely saturated with product... no need to double dip. There's enough product in this little sponge tip to take care of everything. The other fabulous thing... and likely the best part... is that like all By Terry products, this lovely stain doubles as skin care. It's infused with botanicals (roses, anyone?) to help make your lips all healthy and what not. Now, despite all that botanical goodness, this stain (like all stains) is drying as hell. So, you put the Topcoat over it... and you end up with this:

Just... WOW. And it tints a lovely rose (not that red that it looks like in the tube). It's quite luxurious. LOVE! By Terry can be such a splurge, but the performance of these products prove that it's well worth it.

The good news is, these items won't set you back TOO much. The tint and the topcoat are $30 each. Okay, still not cheap. But not too expensive either. It's a nice little luxury for your lips... just in time for Summer.

You can get By Terry's Aqua Lip Tint and Top Coat at Space NK (www.spacenk.com), or Bloomingdales (www.bloomingdales.com)

Light It Up: Armani Pink Light Powder

This lovely powder was all the rage for the Armani Spring 2011 collection, and quickly sold out! I finally managed to score one on the Armani website. I called an Armani expert (Hey Emma!) and she tells me that the powder is coming back as part of the permanent line! That's FANTASTIC news for anyone who's hoping to get one...

I didn't expect it to be as iridescent as it is. But my worries were unfounded, because it blends out beautifully, even on my medium toned skin...

and even more blended out...
I did that just with my fingers. I love how it 'adds light' without adding a bunch of glitter or ash. It's actually a neutral pink (not warm and not cool). I can see it doing wonders as a highlight in the center of the face, and even at the high points.

Lip Service: Haughty's Missing Swatch

Hey guys,

I forgot to put up one more swatch of the Haughty Lipglosses.

This is likely the palest of them all...

Keep It Professional
(pinky nude)

Even this pale color is still flattering. There is NO ash factor with these lipglosses (they all look to be infused with a healthy dose of gold), so they'll work on a wide range of skin tones.

FOTD: Twisted Neutral

I wanted to road test the Le Metier matte eyeshadows... boy did they perform! They remained matte all day on my oily lids (no primer. you guys know how I feel about primer), and never creased or faded...

EYES
Le Metier Eyeshadow in Peachy Keen (lid/browbone)
Le Metier Eyeshadow in Milan (crease)
Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 12L (waterline)
Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara

FACE
29 Hydrating Foundation in Dark
Kevyn Aucoin Diaphonous Radiance Powder
By Terry Blush in Beach Bomb

LIPS
Cover Girl Nature Luxe Balm in Anemone

Lip Service: Haughty Cosmetics Swatches

As promised, here are swatches of the Haughty Cosmetics Lip Glosses. I cannot tell you guys how good these glosses feel! I've never used anything like them. They are not greasy, not sticky, and highly pigmented. I don't know how they formulated these glosses, but the payoff is well worth it.
Break a Leg
(orange/coral)

Polish It Off
(nude)

Know Your Audience
(copper)

Speak Up
(peach)

Take a Risk
(Strawberry Pink)

Overdeliver
(violet/pink)

Make A Statement
(brown)

If you notice, the color and finish of these glosses are very similar to Chanel's Rouge Coco Shine. Polish It Of reminds me of Canotier, Take a Risk reminds me of Monte Carlo,  and Break A Leg reminds me of Sari d'Eau.
They are more weightless than Rouge Coco Shine (if you can imagine that. The Chanel Lippies are pretty weightless), but the finish is mostly pigment, with just a hint of shine.

Product Review: Le Metier De Beaute

I've been dying to try these products, but simply haven't had the time to try or purchase them. I FINALLY got a chance to play with them (and make a purchase) at Neimans. I can't believe that it's taken me this long to try out the brand!
This company is fairly new... about 3 years old I think. Despite the company's youth, the folks behind the brand have REALLY done their homework in terms of pigmentation, feel, and lasting power. They're still wading through the wonderful world of foundations (the color discrepancy between 10 and 11 is so glaring that I feel like someone left what would be 10.5 out of the mix by accident), but I imagine things will sort themselves out soon enough.

Their most luxurious item, Peau Vierge, is so far removed from a proper color scheme that my heart actually broke a little bit, because I was DYING to try it out. No dice. The darkest shade is way too light and glittery for me. I think I'd be able to blend it with another foundation (like an Armani Luminizing Fluid), but wouldn't that kind of defeat the purpose?

I REALLY wanted a foundation (I'm too light for #11 and too dark for #10)... but I would have had to mix. Again, that would have defeated the purpose. So, this is what came home with me:

I built a custom palette, with four of the eyeshadows. I LOVE the pigmentation and silky feeling of the eyeshadows... but one of mine BROKE! OMG. The Thunder Eyeshadow was broken by the time I got home. I was devastated. The girls at the counter put them into the palette for me... and I'm wondering if they handled Thunder a little too rough. I've pressed it back in the pan, but it's not the same. I thought about taking it back (they are $30 after all), but to date it's still sitting in my shopping bag.

One perk about this brand... the palettes do not cost extra (Chantecaille and Clea De Peau, I'm looking at you). That helps a LOT with deciding to purchase.

Swatches:
From the left: Peachy Keen, Milan, Fig and Thunder

I also got one of the lipsticks in Rio De Janiero. LOVE THIS LIPSTICK! I can't say enough good things about this lipstick. It makes my entire face glow when I wear it. It's not quite coral, not quite pink, with just a hint of shimmer...

Is that not the most amazing color you've seen? I LOVE it. I can't believe that it looks as good as it does. It has blown MAC Surf Baby's Hibiscus out of the water. I mean... wow. Really.

Overall, I like the idea of this brand, and I really love the look and feel of the products. I didn't have much time to spend this time around. I promise to set aside more time to truly enjoy it in the future... because it's definitely worth a closer look.

IMATS: The Haul

So here's what came home with me from this year's IMATS:
I told you guys that NAKED got all my money. I bought the deluxe set of creams, which translates into four full size and four travel size containers of the cream. Allegedly, you can use it EVERYWHERE and even use it to boost your own products. So, that's what I've been doing... I've pretty much mixed it with everything, and in the last 24 hours I've put it in my hair, on my face, and on my body. It's chock full of fabulous ingredients (aloe barbadensis, melaluca honey), so I feel very safe using it.

So far, so good.

Bronze Bonanza from Napoleon Perdis. Nothing in this set is actually bronze, but whatever. It was 20 bucks...and it'll do in a pinch.
Total glitterbomb. But I can see this making a nice eyeshadow. I'll figure it out.
The lipgloss isn't really bronze either. But again... it's whatever.

They gave me this gloss for filling out an information sheet.
It's a decent summer gloss. And hey, it was free. I am NOT complaining.

DEX Lip Gloss in Columbus Avenue Copper.

Kevyn Aucoin Diaphonous Radiance Powder.

NAKED Cosmetic Pigment Stack in Sierra Nevada. These pigments are safe for use EVERYWHERE, including eyes, lips and even nails. MAC... I'm looking at you. NAKED is over here showing you all the way up!

A lovely gift from the lady at Crown Brushes. Bianca and I were among the last to leave, and the IMATS people were pushing us out the door. The owner was MORTIFIED and ran after us with a brush each for us. She was so apologetic and sweet. We totally appreciated it.

Bindi and Deep Plum eye pencil from Sumita Beauty. This place is local, and offers a professional discount. Who knew?

Kevyn Aucoin Brush Roll.

That's my haul from IMATS! Ciao for now!
